The Ultimate Marvel Team-Up: When The Mighty Thor And Hitler Set Out To Slay Stalin!
Also featuring Captain America, Prince Namor The Sub-Mariner and the original, non-human Human Torch.
Remember the 1960s? Well, back in the 1960s, Marvel head honcho Stan 'The Man' Lee decided to commission a series of stories set in the Second World War featuring
a previous incarnation of the Earth's greatest heroes The Avengers and their various war-time activities.
The most eye-catching of these tales featured none other than Adolf Hitler who, bent on slaying Joseph Stalin, summons the Mighty Thor and tasks him with doing in the other Man Of Steel. And in case you're wondering, yes, you are still awake.
Pitting the Thunder God against the Soviet leader provided a wonderful opportunity for the Asgardian to trade blows with The Invaders, a proto-Avengers comprising Captain America; Prince Namor, The Submariner (as portrayed by Tenoch Huerta in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever); plus the original non-human Human Torch and the Torch's equally fiery sidekick Toro. Realising what's at stake, the Invaders come to the aid of the Soviet Union but are powerless to prevent Thor from slaying Stalin...
... Except it turns out that it wasn't Stalin at all but the Invaders’ ally Union Jack in disguise!
So if you've not been too impressed with the recent spate of Marvel movies, fear not. Maybe the next phase of features will come with the subtitle 'The Fast And The Fuhr-rious".
