Ice Cold In Alex (1958)
The ‘Alex’ of the title is Alexandria, Egypt, and with the Second World War raging, it falls to John Mills and his serviceman to skirt around the Sahara. Throw spies, quicksand and no end of Nazis into the mix and you'll soon be reaching for the deodorant. What’s more, since the movie ends with a well-earned lager, you'll then be encouraged to embark on your own epic journey to the kitchen.
Body Heat (1981)
A hapless but handsome William Hurt, a scorching hot Kathleen Turner - Lawrence Kasdan's thriller could be set in the bleak midwinter and it'd still fog up the screen. But since it takes place at the height of the Florida summer, the film – in which Mickey Rourke’s supporting turn as an arsonist only serves to further up the temperature – is one that has to be watched with the air conditioning on Antarctic.
