JFK - The Tippit Of The Iceberg
And you thought the other theories about the Kennedy assassination were bizarre...
Two people died on the streets of Dallas, Texas, on 22 November 1963. One was John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States. The other was Jefferson Davis Tippit (above), a cop serving with the Dallas Police Department. Depending upon who you believe, both men were murdered by Lee Harvey Oswald.
Untimely death isn't the only thing that links Kennedy and Tippit. Having been fatally wounded, the bodies of both men were taken to the same place, Parkland Memorial Hospital. And it was there that something truly bizarre might have happened...
As Robin Ramsay explains in his essential study of the Kennedy assassination Who Shot JFK?, J.D. Tippit bore an uncanny resemblance to President Kennedy. He looked so similar in fact that his colleagues nicknamed him 'JFK'. This has caused the Kennedy conspiracy lobby - neither a small or terribly cool-headed body - to ask whether Tippit's body might have doubled for JFK's during the much-discussed Kennedy autopsy.
Whether you believe Kennedy was murdered by a lone assassin or more people than appeared in Lawrence Of Arabia, it's hard to dispute the fishiness of his autopsy. Check out the photos taken during the examination (you’ll understand why I felt it crass to link to them) and you can but reach the conclusion that, at the very least, two different heads were put under the microscope at Bethesda Naval Hospital. But if one was the President's, who did the second one belong to?
The conclusion many have jumped to is that Tippit's cadaver was also subject to examination. And if this was the case, there would appear a good chance that it's the body of an honest cop, rather than a less-than-honest president, that can be seen online, in rather shocking pictures, or found in Arlington Cemetery.
Just don't hold your breath for an exhumation.
