What must it be like to be born into wealth and privilege? Not much fun if you’re Iverson Roy.
As is the wonderful way with Succession, we don’t know an awful lot about Kendall’s only son, other than that his struggles with transitions and his problems with communication have seen him placed somewhere on the autism spectrum. We also know that he is terrified of his grandfather, Logan, which is only proper since pretty much everyone else in the show is, Iverson’s father included.
If I Went To Market is famous for anything it’s for the sight of a confused, frustrated Logan Roy striking his grandson during the memory game from which the episode takes its title. It’s a shocking scene not only because of the violence but because of the reaction it provokes from Kendall who here stands up to his father with an aggression unseen until now.
